You have to have dedication, and lots of it. It all starts in the off season. Usually around the time that Off Season workouts start the Roach Crew setup its own off season work out. This is the time when repairs and updates are made to the Roach, and additional equipment are added. There is a few weeks of planning then a weekend is set aside and we all get together and clear out the Roach and sort through everything and inventory and replenish and replace.

During this time any repairs are made to the truck, over the years this has involved, breaks, tires, transmission, electrical systems, and tons of other items. Most of this work is done by the crew, but we have a good working relationship with Tire Discounters and they provide oil change and other services to the Roach each off season.

Then it comes to the Monday before the first game. This is when communications begging to pick up for the week. A driver is assigned, food preparations are assigned, and other duties are worked out. The driver then works out the pickup schedule and emails it out to everyone letting them know when and where to be. From Monday to Thursday a lot of the details are worked out via email. Friday and Saturday are the days to prepare food, get supply’s and restock the coolers for the coming Sunday. On Saturday after noon the Roach is fired up and all systems are tested and checked to insure smooth sailing Sunday morning.

Sunday morning comes, most of the crew is up by 7:30 am putting the finishing touches on food, and checking off their to do lists to ensure everything is accounted for. Around 8 am the Roach begins it trip to PBS picking up crew along the way. Around 9-9:30 the Roach is in the Lot and the crew is setting up. The grill and fryer are fired up, the music is playing and the flags are flying. This is when all of that hard work, and hours of preparation pay off. Just after the final flag fly’s, the first beers are cracked. It’s a reward for hours of preparation.

Forty Five minutes before kickoff, the pack up begins. All the coolers, tables, serving gear, cooking gear, and games must be repacked stacked and locked up before game time. After the game, we open up the Roach but done setup, pass out a few beers wait for traffic to die down then take the trip back dropping off crew as we go until to Roach is back in its home and the unload, and cleaning begins. Once the coolers are empty and clean, it’s time to close the door on another successful tailgate. Then if we are lucky Monday morning it starts all over again.

But in the end, the roach is back together and ready for the start of the season.

But its not the time to dewll on the past failures, the Bengals have done the first right thing so far this off season and the Roach is very proud that never again are we going to have to yell Fire the Brat!

Whats the Roach upto

This off season holds a lot of high hopes for the Roach, and her crew. Though we again set the bar high in what a tailgate should be we didn't meet all of our expirations. We feel like maybe we let you the Roach Tailgating Fans down. And to us thats just not acceptable. So for this off season the Crew has started planning and assembling to once again set the bar to new heights in NFL tailgating.

Our first big move is to and a new and exciting crew member. Our newest member is Nick "Jucebox" Ruess. Hes been a constant supporter of the Roach, making sure we all stay numbed to the fact that unlike us Mike Brown doesnt care about fans. How has he done this, with Carbombs, and plenty of them. Next season Nick will be forced to turn it down a notch a few games a season when hes asked to captain the Roach on two or more games. Thats right for the first time is 8 years the roach has added a DD. The last driving change was went LB was removed from the Captains chair, and handed a glass of Jamison.

Theres more to come, so stick around.

Could Carson and Benson force Mike to change?

Show answer no, no one will ever get Mike Brown to change. He will always see dollars before anything. Its just who he is so any of you that say "just wait till next season things will be better" your kidding yourself. You have to wait till Mike dies and the family is forced to sell the team.

But it is nice to see that Carson's camp chose to release this bit of information right before NFC and AFC championship games, and days before season ticket invoices are sent out. I'm sure Mike Brown's thinking is this too will blow over like chad, TJ, Pickins, and a list of other "malcontents" but I don't think thats the case. This could be the straw that finally breaks the back of the Bengals fans, and Sponsors.

So whats the Roach's plans for next year. Will we sell our season tickets, repaint the truck Colts Blue and make the weekly trek over to Indy? Will we sell all but one ticket and keep the parking pass have our tailgate and then head home to watch a team play thats owned by a respected owner? Who knows only time will tell.

Only thing i know, is we are the Roach are proud of Plamer, Benson, and the other past and presant bengals who have spoken out, and tried to make the Brown family understand that making money off loosing makes you the biggest looser of all.

The Roach Needs Your Head

Ok so really we want your bobblehead, we are looking for any and all bobble heads to decorate the truck. And we are looking to you, our friends, fans, and family to help in our first ever Bobble Head Drive. Our plan is to get everyone to donate at least one bobble head to the cause.

Now you may ask, sir what is this cause.. Good question. The plan is to put all the bobble heads, after weather proofing, around the top of the Roach. As a way to show our support, and simply a way to add more crap on the truck.. So get to it people, get out there hunt the flee markets, dig in your boxes and find us those bobble heads.
